This week’s Sunday Inspirational video is from Dr. Wayne Dyer, who is truly one of a handful of enlightened teachers alive today. In this video he shares some thoughts about how changing your perspective can change the very world around you.

So, are you looking for your ‘keys’ out under the street light?

It’s what we all do.

But it never works, does it? It never produces the results that we are looking for.

Sure, it’s easier to look out there under the light, but the solution is not there.

The solution, the answer, always lies within yourself. It’s not until you shift your attention away from all the external things, away from the blame, away from the excuses, that you begin to make real progress in your life.

It’s part of taking responsibility for your own life.

I know it would be much simpler if everyone around you would get their act together and smarten up, but…

THAT’S NOT GOING TO HAPPEN!

The only person in the world who can change your life is YOU!

If you are able to change the way you look at the situations around you, those situations appear to change.

No, of course you don’t change reality, you simply change your picture of reality. After all, the reality you are experiencing at any given time is only a picture, a tiny slice of what is really happening, filtered through your senses and your mind. You are only ‘seeing’ a tiny, tiny, tiny, piece of reality. Depending upon where you place your focus, you will experience something different.

What Dr. Dyer is saying in this short clip is that to change ‘YOU’, you must look inside yourself to make those changes.

Trying to change other people, so that you can feel better never works.

Looking outside yourself for the answers or solutions only drags you deeper and deeper into the mess that you find yourself in.

Want to get unstuck?

Shift your attention to the real changes that you want to make.

Change your picture of reality. That’s all.

The reason that you feel the way you do is because at some point you decided that this was an appropriate way to feel in this situation. But you are not stuck with this response. You can change!

There is always a better way of seeing any situation, there is always a way of finding peace. You just have to look for it and embrace it!

I love this guy! Sean Stephenson has a unique style and a can-do attitude that always touches me and his videos cause me to pause and think about my own life. In this video, Sean talks about perspective, something that I love talking and writing about.

Has that ever happened to you? You are moving along, suffering through all these big problems and whining and complaining about how tough things are, how unfair life is, when suddenly you get one of these wake up calls and in the blink of an eye, your life, and your problems, don’t seem quite so bad any more?

Of course it has.

It happens to all of us.

Life offers each of us many, many opportunities to grow into our full potential, but it is only when we are able to step back and see our own lives clearly that we are we able to take advantage of that incredible potential.

So how is your perspective on your life?

Are you being real about your challenges?

Or are you making mountains out of molehills?

How real are your problems?

If you were to write down your biggest problems and showed them to a stranger, would that person be blown away and say, “Wow, you’ve got it tough!”

Or would they look at your little list of problems and say, “You’re kidding, right? These are your problems?”

What if your best friend came to you with the same exact list of challenges. Would you look at your friend’s list and see those challenges as huge and unsolvable, or would you see them as easily overcome?

It is amazing how quickly a change of perspective can alter how you feel about the problems in your life.

What once seemed like a huge obstacle can instantly become a minor annoyance.

Everything in life is relative, and you can always look around and see people who seem to have it easier than you do, people who don’t seem to have the challenges or problems that you have. People who are lucky or who were born in the right place or the right time.

But that is just one perspective, one way of looking at the world.

You can also look around and find plenty of people who seem to be worse off than yourself.

But that approach is not really any better. In both cases, you are comparing yourself and placing a value on your perceived problems, a value based on what you think other people are experiencing and not based on the reality of your situation.

But those are only two perspectives… there is another way.

The best path is to allow yourself to see your life and your challenges as honestly as possible. When things seem too hard or too challenging, let yourself step back and look for the big picture. Sometimes you have to force yourself to stop and breath for a moment, and pull yourself out of the picture.

It always looks and feels different than when you are mired in the middle of things.

The law of attraction should really be called the law of creation because the truth is that you create much more than you attract. This short Sunday morning law of attraction video talks about this crucial difference.

The key to successfully manifesting your desires is to approach things from a mindset of creating rather than attracting. You are not a magnet, so stop trying to be one! Magnets are mindless, and have only one ability. You, on the other hand, are a powerful manifesting being who is capable of creating just about anything you desire.

Once you stop trying to attract your desires you will free yourself from your struggle. Attracting implies waiting for something outside yourself to come to you. How long have you been waiting already? Forget that! Instead, focus on taking action, on moving yourself towards what you want, on creating the opportunities that you need.

You’ll see the difference in your results almost immediately!

Let me ask you…

What does it take for you to stop a self-destructive habit that is causing you pain?

If saying ‘STOP IT!’ to yourself is not enough… what is?

• Blaming doesn’t work.
• Complaining doesn’t work.
• Explaining doesn’t work.

All the strategy in the world won’t help you until you make a conscious decision to change.

All change comes from within.

If you look for the solutions to your problems out there in the world somewhere you are going to continue to struggle. If you take responsiblity for your life however, and make a conscious decision to change… Now you are tapping into your full potential.
