<p>Do you want to be happier? More at peace with your self and your life? It&#8217;s not as hard as you might think.</p>
<p>In fact, quite often, all it takes is a simple shift in the way you are doing things right now, a simple change in your day to day actions to make a tremendous difference in your levels of happiness.</p>
<p>All you need to do is follow the advice of Abraham-Hicks, (I never know how to write that. It is awkward to write, &#8216;Abraham as channeled by Esther Hicks!)&#8230;</p>
<p>&#8230;and celebrate more and complain less.</p>
<p>This is an obvious strategy, but it&#8217;s also one that gets overlooked time  and time again.</p>
<p>What do I mean? Pause with me for a moment and ask yourself what <span id="more-771"></span>your life would look and feel like if you CELEBRATED more and COMPLAINED less.</p>
<p>Can you see what a difference that would make in your life?</p>
<p>If you celebrated more and complained less?</p>
<p>CELEBRATE more by looking for things that uplift and move you. Sure, you celebrate birthdays and anniversaries, and big things like promotions or your child&#8217;s report card, but you can do better! Life offers you so many opportunities to rejoice that it would be a shame to let them pass without celebrating.</p>
<p>Did you finish an unpleasant task? Great!</p>
<p>Did you start a big project? Make it to work on time? Go another day without smoking? Fantastic!</p>
<p>The things you celebrate you create more of. The things you are proud of, the things that move you forward, these all bring your attention onto things that feel good! And where your attention goes, your life follows!</p>
<p>So CELEBRATE everything you can!</p>
<p>Of course there is a flip side to this concept&#8230;</p>
<p>COMPLAIN less!</p>
<p>No one likes to think of themselves as a complainer, but realize that every single time that you complain about something it lessens your happiness.</p>
<p>It is impossible to be happy when you are busy complaining. You are taking your attention off of all the good things in your life and turning instead to problems.</p>
<p>The truth is there are only two types of problems, and complaining about either of them is a complete waste of your time and energy.</p>
<p>There are problems that you can do something about, and then there are problems that you can&#8217;t.</p>
<p>If the problem is one that you can do something about&#8230; DO IT! Do something that moves you toward a solution &#8211; no matter how small that something is.</p>
<p>If the problem is one that you can&#8217;t control&#8230; Let it go. Choose to focus on something else.</p>
<p>Complaining never solves problems, and complaining never helps you create your desires.</p>
<p>So complain less and celebrate more.</p>
<p>You will find yourself happier and much more peaceful as well!</p>

<p><em>Stop and smell the flowers. </em> No, really!  If the hectic pace of the world around you is getting to be too much, take a moment to appreciate some of nature’s beauty.  You probably don’t have to look too far to find something wondrous to appreciate in your environment.   Smell the flowers, look at the clouds, search for the rainbow after a storm.  Nature has a way of allowing the beauty to shine through!</p>

<p><em>Do something nice for someone. </em> We all like it when someone goes out of their way to do something for us, so why not share the love and do something unexpected or unusual for someone else.  They will feel great, and so will you!</p>
<p>It is easy to let things get you down. But it is just as easy to bounce right back up again.  These exercises will help you see that life is seldom the way it seems and that if you shift your perspective you unlock a whole new world around you.</p>
<p>One of the most extraordinary gifts that you have is your ability to choose the way you look at your life.  If you choose to view your life with peace and happiness,  you <em>will</em> attract peace and happiness into your life.</p>

<p>Do you know the secret to finding happiness?</p>
<p>If you do&#8230; then you are probably a relatively happy person most of the time.</p>
<p>If you don&#8217;t&#8230; then you might still be struggling and complaining, and you might even feel miserable most of the time.</p>
<p>Would you believe me if I told you that the choice is always yours?</p>
<p>That you get to choose whether to be happy or not?</p>
<p>I was watching the Oprah show today with Donna and Princess when I heard one of the best formulas for happiness that I&#8217;ve heard in a long time.</p>
<p>It made me sit up and listen.</p>
<p>Suze Orman, bestselling author and financial guru,  was one of <a href="http://www.oprah.com/article/oprahshow/20091029-tows-celebrity-first-job/8" target="_blank">Oprah&#8217;s guests today</a> and during her interview she said,<span id="more-322"></span></p>
<blockquote><p><em>&#8220;When you can make the average GREAT, your dreams can become a reality.&#8221;</em></p></blockquote>
<p>Wow!</p>
<p>That is powerful.</p>
<p>You might feel that your life is &#8216;average&#8217; and that your dreams are so far away that you will never be able to reach them.</p>
<p>That&#8217;s a common feeling when you are first beginning to make changes in your life.</p>
<p>You might even think that your &#8216;happiness&#8217; will only show up <em>after </em>you achieve your dreams.</p>
<p>But that&#8217;s not how it works.</p>
<p>In reality, your dreams show up <em>after </em>you choose to be happy right now.</p>
<p>You see, one of the reasons that you might be struggling to reach your dreams is because you are too negative about your life right now. You might not think you are being overly negative, but if you examine your thoughts and feelings you may discover otherwise.</p>
<p>Too much negativity prevents you from reaching your dreams because:</p>
<ul>
<li>You can&#8217;t focus on your dreams and take advantage of opportunities to move forward if you are too busy whining and complaining about how bad things are.</li>
<li>You can&#8217;t maintain a sense of hope and optimism about your future if you are are too busy feeling sorry for yourself and putting yourself down all day long.</li>
<li>You can&#8217;t make empowered decisions if you are hiding from the truth.</li>
</ul>
<p>Take a hard look at your life right now. Look at your attitudes and mindset. Look at where you are placing your attention and focus.</p>
<p>If you are focused on all the things that are wrong with your life you really can&#8217;t be surprised that you are unhappy. Happiness is not about your circumstances or your problems. Happiness is about how you <em>feel </em>about those circumstances and problems.</p>
<p>Your life may seem &#8216;average&#8217;, but average compared to what?</p>
<p>Your dreams are anything but average, right?</p>
<p>Your dreams of a GREAT life for yourself and your loved ones are just waiting for you to take action and move towards them.</p>
<p>But that can seem hard to do that when you are frustrated and unhappy with your situation, I know&#8230; I&#8217;ve been there.</p>
<p>The key to making your dreams a reality, as Suze Orman said on Oprah today, is to make the average GREAT, in other words, you have to take what you have now and accept it and embrace it.</p>
<p>How do you do that?</p>
<ul>
<li>Where ever you are, what ever you are doing, you should do it the best that you can.</li>
<li>Whatever situation you find yourself in make the most of it.</li>
<li>Vow to succeed in spite of your past mistakes, in spite of your challenges, in spite of your fears.</li>
</ul>
<p>It is important to remember that choosing to be happy right now does not mean that you have to be happy with the circumstances of your life or that you have to like the challenges or problems you have  in your life right now.</p>
<p>It does mean that you have to accept them.</p>
<p>That&#8217;s all.</p>
<p>Accept them.</p>
<p>Stop fighting and resisting and giving your energy to all those things that you don&#8217;t want anyway!</p>
<p>Choose instead to be the best YOU that you can be right now.</p>
<p>Think about it:</p>
<p>What will it take to bring your dreams into reality?</p>
<p>What will it take to make tomorrow GREAT?</p>
<p>Can you really expect to manifest your desires by being &#8216;average&#8217; today?</p>
<p>Can you honestly expect to be happy tomorrow if you don&#8217;t change how you feel today?</p>
<p>Do you see how this works? Being happy is a choice. Reaching your dreams is a choice.</p>
<p>Choose well!</p>
