Jerry Hicks has passed on.

My heart skipped a beat when I read the little blurb on my computer screen. Jerry Hicks had died? I had to read it twice.

I couldn’t believe it. My first thought was, “Oh no, we have lost a wonderful soul, a great thought leader.”

As one third of Abraham-Hicks, Jerry, along with his wife Esther have spent years traveling the country, spreading their message of hope and inspiration, and sharing with people how the law of attraction can help them get more of what they want in life.

They have touched the lives of millions of people from all over the world.

It turns out that Jerry had been battling cancer, but eventually the disease overtook him and Jerry has now transitioned to the next stage of his journey.

He will be deeply missed!

Esther Hicks posted this message on the Abraham-Hicks blog:

Dear, dear Friends,Our sweet Jerry made his transition into Nonphysical last Friday. How sweet the Vortex is feeling to him today!

Jerry said to me when we came together over 30 years ago that given the difference in our ages that it was likely “that I will cut out on you early,” to which I replied, “I don’t mind.” His joy of life and continual new discovery of purpose kept his life feeling fresh and we shared such joyous eagerness for life.

Over the years, Abraham has consistently insisted that there is no death. Again and again they have reminded us that there is only life and more life and more life. It has taken me some time to understand this, and I honestly must say I have not yet fully come to terms with it, but I do believe that in what we are calling Jerry’s death he is discovering the next logical step of life that Abraham has always been talking about. And at times I am catching a glimpse of the bigness of what Jerry is feeling and while I am still pretty mad at him for not sticking around longer to surprise and delight me in all the ways he has been doing throughout our 30 years together I accept fully that the next logical step of joyous life for Jerry was to be found in his re-emergence into Nonphysical.

Since 1985 it has been Jerry and Esther and Abraham and I believe with everything that I am that that has not changed. I know that Jerry will continue to be the third powerful point of the triad of Energy that makes up the Abraham experience and I am certain that his new vantage point will be, as it has always been, of advantage to us all.

I know for sure that Jerry will help me, in time, release my own personal resistance to physical death, because I will not be able to maintain that resistance and also play easily with him. And my desire to continue not only my Abraham experience but also my Jerry experience I am certain he will be the catalyst to help me do what Abraham has been trying to help us all do all along.

Once again, Jerry is out there leading the way for me. But the difference this time is that I must find the way. I am not there yet, but it is my absolute promise to myself that I will find the way, because it is the most natural thing in the world to do and because Jerry has provided for me the reason to do it.

I am eager about what is ahead and while I cannot begin to explain or even imagine the details of how it is all going to play out, I am certain that it will be fun.

I am such a fortunate girl, to have been able to play with Jerry and Abraham and all of you for so many wonderful years and I am so eager to continue doing more of the same for many more years to come. I feel certain right now that not only has nothing gone wrong, but things are going especially right. It will be different, for sure, but it will also be very, very good.

I’m feeling such love for you all, and for Abraham and most of all for Jerry. And as I have said to him a thousand or more times through the years, “Well isn’t life just a kick in the pants?”

Jerry’s passing touched me, I always admired him. He seemed bright, inquisitive, and articulate, and next to Esther, Jerry Hicks was tops at explaining the principles of the law of attraction.

You know what I remember the most about Jerry? That he always seemed happy. He was always smiling, always radiating the love and pride that he felt about Esther. It was a beautiful thing.

I will miss Jerry. Losing him is almost like losing a dear friend. Donna and I have been reading and listening to Abraham-Hicks stuff for quite a few years now. We were even fortunate enough to see them live on one of their stops in our state.

I think the reason I connect with Jerry so much is that, like myself, he was a seeker. I hope that on this next stage of his journey he finds some of the answers he has been looking for.

Although, I suspect that whatever awaits us after our time here is finished, will only lead us deeper and deeper into the mystery of life.

Here are 10 books about personal success and growth that you absolutely must read in 2011. Any one of these books can change your life… if you let it. Any one of these books can help you to see life in a new way, with a new perspective.

2. “Think and Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill. The classic work that everyone refers to, but few have actually read. Do yourself a favor and read this book. Yes, the writing is a little dated and some of the examples Mr. Hill uses don’t really fit modern society, but the core teachings of this book have endured for decades.

3. “Goals” by Brian Tracy. Probably the definitive book on goals and goal setting. Anything and everything you need to know about goals and how to achieve them.

4. “The Power of Intention” by Dr. Wayne Dyer. In this best-selling book, which was also a PBS television special, Dr Dyer explores the power that your intention has on every aspect of your life and your well-being.

5. “Who Moved My Cheese?” by Spencer Johnson. An inspiring little book about the inevitability of change and the benefits of learning to adapt. A small book with a big lesson.

6. “Awaken the Giant Within” By Anthony Robbins. Reaching your true potential and defining your life are the hallmarks of Anthony Robbins, and ‘Awaken the Giant Within’ will do just that and more.

7. “Ask and It Is Given” by Esther and Jerry Hicks. Esther Hicks and the teachings of Abraham are hands down the best source to learn about the power of the law of attraction. Some people are put off by Esther and Abraham, but I say, don’t confuse the message with the messenger.

8. “The Power of Now” by Eckhart Tolle. Another ‘must read’ book for anyone who is serious about making changes in their life. Learning to live in the present moment frees you from so many of your challenges and obstacles, because many of your struggles really exist only in your past or your future. When you understand the power of now, you gain new insights into your path and your life.

9. “Loving What Is” by Byron Katie. Who would you be without your story? So much of your life is just a story, its not really true, its just something you made up.  When you are able to see the truth about the stories you tell yourself you will see your life in a whole new light.

10. “See You at the Top” by Zig Ziglar. When it comes to motivation, Zig Ziglar is the king. He will have you fired up and ready to succeed by the time you finish this book. In fact, you’ll wonder why you waited so long to feel so good about yourself!

The message in this week’s law of attraction video is a simple one: You are in control of your direction in life.

I love it when Esther and Abraham talk about trying to paddle upstream. I’ve been guilty of this myself, and every time that I notice my resistance to the flow of life and I stop and change my thinking, things turn around pretty quickly.

Sure there are lots of things that can distract you from your desires, and you can find yourself resisting the very changes that you want to manifest… but in the end, you will find that you, and you alone, are the one that chooses your path.

This is key to manifesting your desires with the law of attraction. Stop resisting your own efforts!

You resist for two main reasons – either you fear the coming change or you aren’t fully committed to the desire you are trying to manifest and you are hanging on to your old familiar ways.

In either case, as soon as you recognize the problem, you can take steps to correct it and get back on track.

You control your own stream of manifesting, and your power comes from being aligned with your desires and being in the flow, not from resisting them or allowing yourself to be distracted by all that stuff that is ‘upstream’.

Sometimes you will look back upstream and see all those missed opportunities in your life, all those wonderful chances that you let slip by, and you desperately want to go back and do it again. This is resisting.

There are many more opportunities to manifest your desires downstream! Downstream is the whole universe just waiting for you to step forward and claim what you want.

Set your sights on your biggest, grandest dream and never look back!

I told you! I have always loved the humor in Abraham-Hicks messages. They have a way of getting us to see through the madness that we create around ourselves, and to take ourselves a little less seriously. They cause us to step back and realize how simple life is supposed to be and how naturally we can live our lives in harmony with our grandest desires.

You can do the same, right now, simply by choosing to see the humor in your own life, by choosing to see how silly some of your antics look from the outside.

It is all about your perspective.

What did I tell you?

Fantastic stuff, right? I’m always amazed at how simple Abraham-Hicks makes the manifesting process seem. But I know that some people struggle with these concepts and how to actually use them to make changes in their lives.

That’s okay!

Don’t get bogged down worrying that you are not manifesting correctly, or that you are not thinking right.

You are always manifesting correctly. The law of attraction can’t be turned on and off like a light switch!

The only reason you have not manifest money or anything else is that you are not focused and aligned with what you desire.

Watch the video again and listen to the words.

Do you talk to yourself like that? Are you your own best coach when it comes to keeping yourself on track and thinking about your desires as if they are already here?

You should be.

If you are serious.

If you want to manifest abundance you must develop an abundant mindset.

Happiness defined: celebrate more and complain less!

Do you want to be happier? More at peace with your self and your life? It’s not as hard as you might think.

In fact, quite often, all it takes is a simple shift in the way you are doing things right now, a simple change in your day to day actions to make a tremendous difference in your levels of happiness.

All you need to do is follow the advice of Abraham-Hicks, (I never know how to write that. It is awkward to write, ‘Abraham as channeled by Esther Hicks!)…

…and celebrate more and complain less.

This is an obvious strategy, but it’s also one that gets overlooked time and time again.

What do I mean? Pause with me for a moment and ask yourself what your life would look and feel like if you CELEBRATED more and COMPLAINED less.

Can you see what a difference that would make in your life?

If you celebrated more and complained less?

CELEBRATE more by looking for things that uplift and move you. Sure, you celebrate birthdays and anniversaries, and big things like promotions or your child’s report card, but you can do better! Life offers you so many opportunities to rejoice that it would be a shame to let them pass without celebrating.

Did you finish an unpleasant task? Great!

Did you start a big project? Make it to work on time? Go another day without smoking? Fantastic!

The things you celebrate you create more of. The things you are proud of, the things that move you forward, these all bring your attention onto things that feel good! And where your attention goes, your life follows!

So CELEBRATE everything you can!

Of course there is a flip side to this concept…

COMPLAIN less!

No one likes to think of themselves as a complainer, but realize that every single time that you complain about something it lessens your happiness.

It is impossible to be happy when you are busy complaining. You are taking your attention off of all the good things in your life and turning instead to problems.

The truth is there are only two types of problems, and complaining about either of them is a complete waste of your time and energy.

There are problems that you can do something about, and then there are problems that you can’t.

If the problem is one that you can do something about… DO IT! Do something that moves you toward a solution – no matter how small that something is.

If the problem is one that you can’t control… Let it go. Choose to focus on something else.

Complaining never solves problems, and complaining never helps you create your desires.

So complain less and celebrate more.

You will find yourself happier and much more peaceful as well!

Here is a wonderful law of attraction video of Esther Hicks / Abraham talking about fine tuning manifestation. Listen closely and you may discover the real reason why you have still been struggling.

How are you doing with your manifesting? Are you in the flow? Or are you still focused on what is missing in your life? I love how Esther talks about the fine difference between loving what you have and wanting more. The ‘more’ in your life doesn’t come untilyou are in that place where you are grateful for everything in your life – including the challenges.

That’s when you unlock your manifesting power and the true essence of the law of attraction begins to show itself in your life. You have to be ‘in’ your life, loving it completely, seeking to grow and expand.

When you feel like you have missing pieces, you are no longer in expanding mode. Now you are simply trying to fill in the gaps in your life. Do you see the difference?

Do you feel the difference?

You can learn to make the switch, to get back into expansion and growth. You start by focusing on what you have right now and allowing yourself to be grateful and loving toward your life.

Do that and the rest will fall into place!
