What would your 3 wishes from the genie be?

What would you wish for if a magic genie suddenly appeared and offered you 3 wishes? Fortune and fame? Health? Love?

Think carefully before answering! Sometimes what we think we want… is not really what we truly desire.

It’s like the story of the three men shipwrecked on a deserted island…

Tom, Mike, and Leo were on a fishing boat caught in a brutal storm. Their boat capsized, and they washed up on the shore of an uncharted island. The three men survived on the island for six long months, living off berries and the occasional fish they managed to catch. Day after day they waited to be rescued. Hope turned to despair and resignation. One day, while combing the beach for firewood, the three men spotted something shiny lodged in the rocks near the shore. As they got closer, they saw that it was a golden container, shaped like an antique oil lamp. Just then a powerful wave broke upon the rocks and the golden lamp was tossed up into the air.

Each man lunged forward, trying to grab the tumbling lamp before it fell into the churning ocean, and each of the three reached the lamp at the same time with an outstretched arm, and together they managed to save it from disappearing beneath the waves.

As they carried the lamp to shore it began to vibrate in their hands and suddenly started getting warmer and warmer. They dropped the lamp onto the damp sand just as a swirling mist began streaming from the lamp’s opening. The mist grew bigger and bigger, swirling faster and faster, until it towered over the three men.

Then, in the blink of an eye, the mist transformed into a mystical genie, who spoke to the three men.

“You have called upon the genie and I am at your command. I have three wishes to grant to the person who frees me from my lamp, but you three have acted as one to release me. Therefore, I will grant each of you ONE wish. Think carefully before asking.”

Tom stepped forward, and said, “I don’t have to think, I wish I was home with my family.”

“As you wish,” the genie said, snapping his fingers. Poof! Tom was gone!

Mike’s eyes lit up as he watched his friend disappear. “Oh boy, this is great! I wish I was back home with my family too!” he said.

“As you wish,” the genie said, snapping his fingers a second time. Poof! Mike was gone.

Leo was dumbfounded. Both of his friends had just vanished before his eyes. He didn’t know what to think. Was this real, he thought? Am I dreaming?

“What about you?” the genie asked, looking down at Leo. “What wish can I grant you? What do you desire most of all right now?”

Leo looked around the empty beach. He looked up at the genie. He was scared and confused, and he blurted out, “I miss my friends. I sure wish Tom and Mike were back here!”
