Your Habits – Putting Your Future Success on Autopilot

Your habits can put your success on autopilot!
Your habits. What is the first thing that comes to your mind when I ask you about your habits? Are you excited about the habits you have now? Are your habits putting your future success on autopilot?
How you answer will shine a light on your true intentions regarding not only those habits, but about your dreams as well.
For the average person, a habit is a bad thing, something to be resisted and that they try to stop doing. They have long lists of habits that they intend to change or stop doing. They want to eliminate bad habits.
But those people who have a winning mindset, those people who are making their dreams come true, know that creating good habits is essential to the attainment of your big dreams and important goals.
You might not realize how much your habits, both the good ones and the bad ones, are responsible for the results that you get in life. They control your reactions to people, events, and situations each and every day.
If you have a winner’s mindset, you know this. You know that developing good habits is important. You know that the traits and qualities of the person that you are becoming will be built on the consistent daily practice of those habits.
Here are some easy ways to gain control of your habits.
- Never try to eliminate a bad habit. You can’t do it. You must replace your unwanted habits with habits that empower you and move you toward your desired outcome. Look instead for the related thought or action that would replace the habit you want to get rid of, and work on that DAILY.
- Choose your habits wisely. Sometimes we set out to create a new habit because we think it is the right thing to do, or because everyone else is doing it. Be certain that your habits lead to successful results. The simplest way to do this is to ask yourself, “Why do I want this habit? What will it do for me?”
- Be consistent. You can only create habits, (of any kind,) if you actually do them everyday. Everyday means EVERY DAY. It doesn’t mean only on the weekends, or only when you are feeling like it. It means that once you commit to creating a new habit that you stick with it no matter what.
When you choose great habits, you will get great results.
That’s the bottom line.
Just like the auto-pilot in an airplane, your habits will guide you down the path that you have chosen. If you want to put your future success on autopilot, you simply need to ensure that your habits are ones that will get you the results that you want.

Bob,
Great information here. I created the good habit of writing every day, and during the past few years that has changed my life. I just finished my first book, and if I had not worked on the ‘writing habit’ it would never have been written.
