Finding Your Inner Mentor – Be Your Own Success Coach

Become your own success coach!
Would you like to learn how to reach your goals faster? How to blast through those barriers to your success? Then you absolutely need to learn to become your own success coach, you need to learn to become your own mentor.
Why?
Because there is one quality that the top achievers in every field share, that enables them to reach the levels of success that they do. Without exception, every one of them has learned how to be their own success coach, how to be their own best source of motivation.
You see, the purpose of coaching is to bring a new perspective to your efforts, and in the beginning you might need a lot of coaching, a lot of fresh perspective. You are too close to your own problems and weaknesses to see them clearly. You are too attached to certain outcomes to be able to make empowering decisions.
This is where someone outside of yourself can help. They can objectively point out areas where you can improve, or show you how to make better use of your time and energy. Yes, having a mentor or coach is important. Having one can make the critical difference between reaching your goal and continuing to struggle.
You should have one if you are serious about breaking through to the next level in your own life. (Are you ready for a breakthrough? You might want to look at this page that describes some of my more popular life coach and success coaching options.)
But the ultimate goal of any coach or mentor is to help you train yourself to actually coach yourself. To learn how to see your own life clearly and how to make your own empowered decisions that move you into the life you design for yourself.
That’s where your power lies!
You can begin to do this right now, without waiting. All that’s required is that you keep an open mind and decide to be totally honest with yourself… about yourself.
Begin trusting your inner feelings, and taking action on those thoughts that ‘feel’ right. How many times in the past have you discovered after the fact that your original impulse was the right one? But you talked yourself out of it? Too many times, I’m sure. I know I have.
But that only happens because you ignore the inner feelings that come up.
This is where you can practice coaching yourself and allowing your inner mentor to be heard.
This is where you can play the ‘What would my coach say?” game.
Imagine that you have hired the worlds BEST success coach. You have her on speed dial and she is available 24 hours a day, any time that you have a problem.
When a situation arises and you face a difficult decision, what would you do? You would call your coach, right? You’d explain the situation and she would share some advice.
So, in this game, you are going to IMAGINE that you have called your coach, and you are going to IMAGINE what guidance she would give you.
Ask yourself the question, “What would my coach say?”
“What guidance would she give me in this situation?”
Then listen for the answers from within yourself.
The truth is that most of the time you already know the best choice, the best path to take. Your inner mentor is the most powerful mentor on the face of the planet. You know better than anyone else exactly what you want your life to look like, and you know better than anyone what you have to do next to get there.
Practice listening to your own inner mentor. Allow your inner coach to be heard.
When you do, you will find yourself moving closer and closer to your dreams!
Peace,

If we all coach ourselves, won’t you be out of a job?
@ Tony P.:
LOL, maybe so! But I suspect that there would still be some people needing a little help. An outside perspective is a valuable tool in self growth.
Thanks Bob. I’ve been getting better at seeing my own weaknesses and taking action on them. You’re right about seeing the bigger picture.
@ Marilynn:
Sometimes that is all it takes is a big step back to see what the best route forward is!
